Ingredients 2 cups of yellow maize meal(Polenta) 1 cup of cake flour 2 tsp baking powder 1 teaspoon of Salt 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda 2 cups of butter milk 1 cup of milk 2 large eggs 3/4 cup of melted butter . 1/2 a cup of grated cheese ( optional ) to be added right at the end of mixing the batter .

Method In two separate bowls mix your dry ingredients together and in the other bowl … Your wet ingredients . Pour the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and stir until combined . Next add your melted butter and cheese and stir just until combined . It will be a runny batter. Bake in a square or deep round greased baking tin for 35 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 °C or until golden brown and when inserting a skewer it comes out clean . Allow to cool before serving . I love this bread with any food with lots of gravy . My absolute favourite bread . Delicious
