butter cake

You Need:

100gm/3/4th cup all purpose flour1 tsp baking powder100gm sugar1/4 tsp salt125 gm unsalted butter2 eggs at room temperature2 tbsp milk1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Method:

Preheat oven at 180 C for 15mins. Prepare a 8″x4″ loaf pan by either lining it with parchment/butter paper or greasing it well with butter and then dusting it with flour.Sift the flour, baking powder & salt at least 2-3 times. This helps make the cake all the more fluffy.In a large mixing bowl beat the butter & sugar until pale. Add one egg at a time and beat well.Pour in the vanilla extract and mix till incorporated.Add the flour in 2-3 parts alternating between flour and milk (ie add one part flour to the butter egg mixture and mix well with a spatula.Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake for 30-35 minutes or till the skewer inserted comes out clean. My cake was done in exactly 32 minutes.Remove the tin from the oven and place it to cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Careful invert the cake on to the wire rack and tap the tin so that the cake slides out easily. Allow to cool completely before cutting it.Serve with a hot cup of tea, coffee or milk or simply enjoy it plain. You can also cut up each slice into chunks and eat it with chocolate sauce poured over it.

Supper, creamy spinach with mushrooms, rice with chicken breasts with peppers, coleslaw with red cabbage and store bought beetroot

Method
Cut ur breasts into strips, then marinade them with zeal, aromat, Tikka marinade and lemon and herb let it rest for an hour
Put oil in a saucepan then put in garlic let it cook add onions reduce heat let onions cook, then add paprika, add chicken breast cook for 10 minutes then add peppers for 5 minutes and then add your breasts in ur rice.

Creamy spinach with mushroom
Boil your spinach with milk add aromat, when it is cooked, then add mushrooms and three cheese sauce let it cook for 5minutes.

Coleslaw
Cabbage
Red/purple cabbage
Carrots
Mayonnaise

Method
Great your cabbages and carots then mix with mayonnaise.

Melting moments Recipe
250 g stork to bake margarine
125 ml icing sugar
125ml corn flour
Tsp essence of your choice
2cups of flour

Method
Beat your margarine until it is pale white, add essence and mix then add ur icing sugar and mix well then lastly add corn flour and flour, mix well then put in ur piping bag and bake fo 15 minutes or until golden brown

Butter cream filling recipe
125 g stork to bake margarine
3cups icing sugar
2tsp essence
60ml milk

Beat margarine until it is pale white , add essence than add icing sugar beat until it is creamy then add milk and mix well than sandwich your buscuits.

Sunday kos , Fried rice, Grilled leg quarter, roasted potato wedges, coleslaw, butternut and beetroot with mango

Fried rice recipe
Spice for rice
Rice
Bacon bits
Robot peppers
Mixed herbs
crushed garlic

Method
Cook ur rice with rice spice then drain when it is cooked and set it aside, in a separate pan fry your bacon until it is cooked when it is cooked remove from ur pan, on theat same pan fry ur peppers, put in garlic, little bit of steak and chops and mixed herbs then fry for 5 minutes and mix with your rice then garnish with dried parsley.

Potato wedge recipe
Cut your potatoes in wedges then toss them with oil and arrange them in a single layer in a roasting pan bake for 50 minutes, then sprinkle with salt and pepper, thyme, oregano and parsley bake for ten minutes or until golden brown.

Beetroot
Store bought then add mangos
Grilled chicken
Prego sauce
Peri peri hot sauce
Chillie flakes
Steak and chops
All purpose marinade
Rosemary

Method
Mix all these ingredients and put them on your meat let it sit for 2 hours then grill in your highest oven heat for 30 t0 45 minutes. or until done.

Guava, Watermelon and Banana Smoothie

Ingredients
1 Guava
2 cups Water melon
1 Banana
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar if required
Ice cubes
Milk

Method
Peel banana and slice. Wash the guava and chop, slice the water melon too. Combine all ingredients. Blend till smooth and frothy. Add sugar if necessary.
Place some ice cubes in a glass and pour the smoothie over it.
Garnish with some finely cubes watermelon.

Jeqe(Steam bread), grilled chicken, creamy spinach with mushrooms and peppers, boiled cabbage, chakalaka

Jeqe recipe
10 cups flour
1 packet yeast
125ml sugar
30ml salt
125ml oil
Grated carrots
Chopped spinach
Warm water(kala ngamehlo)

Method
Put flour in ur dish add yeast, sugar, salt, grated carrots, chopped spinach and lastly add oil, then using ur clean hands mix it all together and pour in water and shove it until it forms a plough able dough, let it rise and shove it back maybe repeat that 4 three times and Cook the old way using plastic or enamel dish cook for 1hour 30 minutes, or use mugs and cook for 30 minutes

Spinach
Boil spinach with milk add aromat, let it boil for 5minutes then add mushrooms, then add three cheese sauce. Mushroom sauce as is(powdered) lastly add peppers

Method
Put oil in your pan then when it is hot put onions and crushed garlic let it cook then add paprika and mix masala let it cook, then add steak and chops spice,aromat and let it simmer, then add peppers do not overcook peppers add carrots and let it simmer for 5minutes then remove from stove and add baked beans.

Boil ur cabbage using a small amount of water add aromat to taste and add green beans then laslty add red cabbage and bit of rama original

Method
Make a paste of all the ingredients then brush them on your meat then let it soak for 2hours, then grill for 45 minutes on ur highest oven heat

Victoria Sandwich Cake

  • 250 g self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 200g castor sugar
  • 200g butter
  • 150ml milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 4 tbsp jam
  • 150 ml fresh cream + 4 tbsp icing sugar (optional)

This is a classic cake which I’ve put a little twist to. It’s one of the most simple cakes to prepare and tastes good too. It is typically sandwiched with jam. Here we’ve added a whipped fresh cream layer before sandwiching the cakes. You may also add some strawberries or tinned peaches too if you wish.

Do this

  1. Get your ingredients together. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Lightly grease 2 x 20 cm baking tins, dust with a little bit of flour and set aside.
  2. Sift flour and baking powder into a bowl and set aside.
  3. Put butter, and sugar into a separate bowl. Beat until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing until well incorporated after each addition.
  5. Add the essence, half the flour and half the milk. Mix again until combined. Add the remaining flour and milk. Again mix until combined.
  6. Split the batter evenly between the two baking tins and level them up.
  7. Bake in preheat oven for 20-25 min or until skewer comes out clean when inserted.
  8. Allow the cakes to cool down completely. Join the cakes together with the jam. If using fresh cream, whip it together with the icing sugar until stiff peaks form (until it’s thickened and spreadable). Spread the whipped fresh cream over the jam then join the cakes together. Enjoy!

everything rice krispies treats Yummy

ingredients

6 cups rice krispies cereal (or something similar)5 Tbsp (1/4 cup) unsalted butter12.5 oz bag of marshmallows (12 oz bag will work too) 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (I use the creamy unsalted pb from trader Joe’s with peanuts as only ingredient)1 1/2 cups chocolate chips3/4 c. shredded coconut toasted

directions

prepare your tray line a 10x13in pan with parchment paper to help it stay in place you can spray the pan lightly with non stick cooking spray then press the parchment on topto toast the shredded coconut spread shredded coconut onto a parchment lined baking sheet In a preheated 340 degree oven bake for about 9 minutes or until golden brown do not burn check after about 6 minutes and keep an eye on it It can darken quicklymeasure out rice Krispies into a bowl if you’ve made rice krispies treats before you know that having everything ready to go is helpfulon medium heat on stovetop melt the butter is a large pot once the butter is melted add marshmallows use a heat resistant spatula to stir marshmallows frequently until completely melted so it won’t stick to the bottom of the pot when the marshmallows have formed a melted goo add peanut butter to the mixture. Mix well until incorporated try to do this quickly turn off heat. Off the stovetop add rice Krispies cereal with the spatula carefully stir until marshmallow mixture and cereal are blended It helps to scrape the marshmallow mixture from the bottom and fold it over the top of the cereal, repeating this motionassemble dump mixture into your prepared parchment lined pan spread mixture creating an even layer on the bottom of the pan in a microwaveable bowl microwave chocolate chips in 35 second intervals  – stirring in between -until completely melted It should take less than 3 minutes do not burn chocolateadd melted chocolate on top of the rice krispies layer use spatula to even it out so the rice krispie layer is completely covered sprinkle toasted coconut on top of the chocolatepop the pan into the refrigerator for about 25 minutes or until the chocolate is completely set and hardenedeat: at this point, you’re pretty much done the layered rice krispies treat should come out of the pan easily by gently lifting the parchment out of the pan If you don’t want one giant everything rice krispies treat then cut into pieces however you like.

ITALIAN CREME COCONUT CAKE

ingredients

1 cup buttermilk1 teaspoon baking soda1/3 cup butter1/3 cup shortening3 cups white sugar4 eggs1 teaspoon vanilla extract1 cup flaked coconut1 teaspoon baking powder3 cups all purpose flourfrosting7 ounces cream cheese1/3 cup butter1 teaspoon vanilla extract3 cups confectioners’ sugar3 tablespoons light cream1/3 cup chopped walnuts1 cup sweetened flaked coconut

instructions

preheat oven to 340 degrees F -170 degrees C- grease three 10 inch round cake pans in a small bowl dissolve the baking soda in the buttermilk set aside in a large bowl cream together 1/3 cup butter shortening and white sugar until light and fluffy mix in the eggs buttermilk mixture 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup coconut baking powder and flour stir until just combined pour batter into the prepared pans bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean allow to cool to make frosting in a medium bowl combine cream cheese 1/3 cup butter 1 teaspoon vanilla and confectioners’ sugar beat until light and fluffy mix in a small amount of cream to attain the desired consistency stir in chopped nuts and remaining flaked coconut spread between layers and on top and sides of cooled cake.
