Steamed Brownie Butter Cake. It has two distinct layers: a rich, dense chocolate brownie base and a soft, fluffy butter cake top. Here’s a basic recipe you can try:
Ingredients
For the Brownie Layer:
- 100 g dark chocolate, chopped
 - 100 g unsalted butter
 - 100 g granulated sugar
 - 2 eggs
 - 50 g all-purpose flour
 - 1 tbsp cocoa powder
 - 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

For the Butter Cake Layer:
- 100 g unsalted butter (softened)
 - 100 g caster sugar
 - 2 eggs
 - 100 g all-purpose flour
 - 1 tsp baking powder
 - 2 tbsp milk
 - 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
Prepare the Brownie Layer:
- Melt chocolate and butter together over a double boiler or in short microwave bursts.
 - Let cool slightly, then stir in sugar.
 - Beat in eggs one at a time.
 - Fold in flour, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract.
 - Pour batter into a greased and lined loaf pan.

Steam the Brownie Layer:
- Steam over medium heat for 15–20 minutes or until the top is set but not fully cooked through.
 - Remove from heat, keep in the steamer.

Prepare the Butter Cake Layer:
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
 - Add eggs one at a time, beating well.
 - Fold in sifted flour and baking powder.
 - Add milk and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
 - Carefully pour the butter cake batter over the semi-cooked brownie layer.

Final Steaming:
- Cover the pan with foil to avoid water droplets.
 - Steam for another 25–30 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.

Tips:
- Keep the steam steady but not too vigorous.
 - Use a towel under the steamer lid to prevent water from dripping onto the cake.
 - Let the cake cool completely before slicing for clean layers.
