Milk Custard Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 liter (4 cups) of milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar (200g)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (60g)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a medium-sized baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Warm the milk slightly (lukewarm, not hot).
  3. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar until light and frothy.
  4. Add the flour, a pinch of salt, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the warm milk while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  6. Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish.
  7. Bake for about 45–55 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the center is set. It should jiggle slightly when moved but not be liquidy.
  8. Let it cool completely, then refrigerate for a few hours (optional, but improves texture).
  9. Slice and serve chilled or at room temperature.
