Cheese Bread No Oven, No Yeast and Super Easy

If you’re craving something warm, cheesy, and satisfying but don’t want to turn on the oven or deal with yeast, this quick cheese bread recipe is exactly what you need. It’s simple, requires just a few basic ingredients, and is made entirely on the stovetop. Perfect for a last-minute snack or a tasty side dish!

Ingredients:

  • 200g of wheat flour (about 1½ cups)
  • 150 ml of milk (just over ½ cup)
  • 1 large egg
  • 250g grated cheese (mozzarella, parmesan, cheddar, or a mix for extra flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • A pinch of salt (adjust to taste depending on your cheese)
  • Butter or oil (for greasing the pan, as needed)

Instructions:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, add the grated cheese, wheat flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir everything together thoroughly so the cheese is evenly coated with the flour mixture. This will help ensure it distributes nicely throughout the dough.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients:
Crack the egg into the bowl, then pour in the milk. Use a spoon or spatula to mix everything together. The dough will come together quickly and should be slightly sticky, but still manageable. If it feels too dry, add a splash more milk. If it’s too wet, sprinkle in a little extra flour.
  3. Shape the Dough:
Once your dough is ready, divide it into 6 equal portions. You can roll them into balls and gently flatten them, or shape them into small disks or patties—whatever you prefer. Just make sure they’re uniform in size for even cooking.
  4. Cook on the Stovetop:
Heat a nonstick skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Lightly grease it with a bit of butter or oil. Once the pan is hot, place the dough portions in, leaving a bit of space between each one so they don’t stick together as they expand.
  5. Golden on Both Sides:
Cook each piece for about 3 to 5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and fully cooked through. Flip carefully with a spatula to avoid tearing the soft dough.
  6. Repeat & Serve:
Depending on the size of your skillet, you may need to cook the breads in batches. Add a little more butter or oil as needed between batches. Serve the cheese bread while it’s still warm for the best gooey, melty texture.

Tip:
This cheesy bread is best enjoyed fresh and hot off the pan. It pairs wonderfully with soups, stews, fresh salads, or can be enjoyed all on its own as a quick snack. Try dipping it into a tomato sauce or herb butter for extra flavor!
