Golden Vanilla Muffins

Golden vanilla muffins are a type of muffin that gets its color from the addition of brown sugar, which gives it a golden hue. They are often flavored with vanilla extract, which enhances their sweetness.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and egg until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  5. Fold in walnuts, if using.
  6. Divide batter evenly among prepared muffin cups.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let muffins cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
